UPDATE – BRISBANE PORT CLOSURE

07 Mar UPDATE – BRISBANE PORT CLOSURE

Port of Brisbane Closures – Tropical Cyclone Alfred
Please be advised that all vessel arrivals and departures at the Port of Brisbane will be suspended due to the severe weather conditions affecting the region this week.
While terminals remain operational today, current forecasts indicate that the port will close from Tuesday, 4 March 2025, with normal operations anticipated to resume on Saturday,8 March 2025.
▪ Impact on Customers
Cargo availability in Brisbane is expected to be significantly affected over the coming week due to disruptions in operations at container parks, depots, and airline terminals.
Delays in Brisbane may also affect sailing schedules at other Australian ports, as shipping lines are expected to reroute vessels to mitigate the impact of port closures.
Additionally, shipping lines may impose container detention charges during this period due to the closure of empty container parks. If you have any concerns, please contact your designated Customer Service Representative for further assistance.
▪ Vessel Movement Suspensions:
Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has suspended inbound vessel arrivals to the Port of Brisbane due to heavy swells since late yesterday, until further notice. A
further update is expected shortly confirming that all berthed vessels will be required to evacuate the port.
