Chinese inspections of export aircargo

Customs ramp up export inspections at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN)

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) is the main airport of Guangzhou.

In 2012 Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was China’s third busiest for cargo traffic.

Currently customs based at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport terminal has increased their level of inspections of air cargo for export. They are targeting shippers who are attempting to export cargo without a licence. Cargo that does not have valid export licence is being held by customs and cannot be exported until a licence is arranged.

We strongly advise all Clemenger clients currently importing by air via Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport check with their shippers to make sure that their goods are covered by a valid export licence.

Goods without a valid licence and held up by Chinese customs run the risk of delays and possibly additional costs.
